(SALEM, IL) — A 24-year-old Walnut Hill man has been sentenced to 3-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after he pleaded guilty to possessing methamphetamine. Jeremy White was arrested in April when he was stopped in connection with an alleged domestic battery and theft incident that happened on March 20th. Following his arrest White was found with less than 5-grams of meth. He was taken to the Marion County Jail where he remained on Thursday when he pleaded guilty to the Class 3 felony meth charge. The domestic battery charge was dismissed but he was sentenced to a concurrent 3-year sentence for violating his probation on a 2014 felony aggravated domestic battery charge. In addition to his 3-year prison sentence, White will have to serve 1-year mandatory supervised release upon completion of his prison term and pay court costs.
