(MT. VERNON, IL) — A Herrin man pleaded guilty in Jefferson County Court after being arrested for repeatedly striking a man in the head with a glass bottle. Authorities arrested 37 year old Dustin Knight on April 28th in response to a report of the suspect forcing himself inside a Woodlawn residence and battering the victim. Knight was held by individuals at the residence until police arrived. Knight pleaded guilty Wednesday to Class 3 Felony aggravated battery with great bodily harm and has been sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections for a term of three years.
