WAYNE COUNTY — A joint investigation between the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Mt. Vernon Police Department, and the U.S. Postal Service into the distribution of bath salts in the area resulted in the arrest Friday of a 51-year-old Bluford man.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Craig Fenton was arrested Friday while exiting the Wayne City Post Office.

At the time of his arrest Fenton was allegedly in possession of package that later turned out to be 2.2lbs of suspected a-PVP, also known as bath salts. The a-PVP confiscated has an estimated street value of $70,000.

Fenton was transported to the Wayne County Jail on preliminary charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and also a federal warrant for violating his supervised release on a federal weapons conviction.
