Lausch Picked For U.S. Attorney: Report

CHICAGO (AP) — The “Chicago Tribune” is quoting sources in reporting that former Chicago federal prosecutor John Lausch is President Donald Trump’s pick to be the next U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois. Lausch has not been formally nominated, and his selection could be blocked by Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth. The 46-year-old Lausch worked in Chicago as an assistant U.S. Attorney from 1999 until 2010 and is now a partner with the Kirkland & Ellis law firm.
