Salem Man Charged With Felony Battery

(SALEM, IL) — A 38-year-old Salem man was formally charged Thursday in Marion County Court with felony battery following his arrest by Salem police. Randy S. Mitchell was charged with Class 3 felony aggravated battery with a weapon. According to reports, Mitchell struck a 23-year-old Centralia man with a bat. Both men were injured in the incident and were taken to the hospital treatment. Mitchell was arrested upon his release from the hospital.
