AMA Slams GOP Insurance Plan

(Chicago, IL) — The Chicago-based American Medical Association is warning that the Senate’s new health insurance plan would hurt the nation’s most vulnerable citizens. The AMA says they cannot support the plan because it violates the basic ethical tenet of physicians to “first do no harm.” The group’s CEO James Madera said in a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Leader Charles Schumer that the plan would expose low and middle income patients to higher costs and greater difficulty in affording care.
