(WEST FRANKFORT, IL) — A new Dollar General will be coming to West Frankfort sometime next year.  The West Frankfort City Council Tuesday night voted unanimously to provide Glenwood Equities LLC with tax increment financing so it can bring Dollar General to the city. The TIF agreement will not exceed $150,000 over six years. Glenwood will buy five lots – three on Main Street from Van Buren Street west and two on Oak Street west of Van Buren where Bella’s Italian Restaurant was located. Plans call for the company to tear down two buildings on the site and move the utilities so a new building can be built. The city’s engineer will be hired to help Glenwood move the sewer line, but the company’s contractors will do the work with the city reimbursing them for the cost up to $50,000. That’s according to the Southern Illinoisan. No date has been set for when the store will open, but it could be ready sometime next year. Upon opening, the store would receive a one-time gift of $50,000 and gifts of $10,000 yearly for five years as part of the deal.
