(WEST FRANKFORT, IL) — A West Frankfort man was arrested following a one-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in West Frankfort. West Frankfort Police Chief Mike Irwin says shortly after 2, Daniel Embry was traveling in the 600 block of St. Louis Street when his car hit a power pole, overturned and caught fire. Officers on scene found an insurance card and pay stub with Embry’s name and address on it. They went to the address and spoke to Embry who said he was returning to his home on St. Louis Street when the crash happened. Officers learned Embry was driving on a suspended license when he was returning home. Embry was not hurt and refused treatment at the scene. West Frankfort firefighters were called in to extinguish the vehicle fire. Embry was cited for driving while license suspended, leaving the scene of an accident and damaging property.
