RAYMOND — UFC Star and Hillsboro, Illinois, native Matt Hughes is reportedly in serious condition after a truck he was driving was struck by a train in Montgomery County.

Illinois State Police Reports indicate that the 43-year-old Hughes was traveling eastbound on Beelers Trail approaching a railroad crossing marked with crossbucks. Hughes crossed the tracks directly in front of a train and was struck in the passenger side of the truck.

Hughes was airlifted to a Springfield-area hospital. The ISP Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating. No further information is available at this time.
