(METROPOLIS, IL) — A 52-year-old Metropolis man has been arrested following a foot chase with police following a disturbance at a Metropolis gas station. Anthony Ginger reportedly ran from an officer and toward an alley after officers responded to a call about a man with a gun. As the officer was pursuing Ginger, he reportedly stopped and made a motion as if he drew a gun and pointed it at him. When the officer pointed his flashlight at Ginger he noticed the man was pointing his fingers like a gun at him and then shouted, “pow, pow, pow!” Ginger reportedly kept running, was tasered twice and struggled with the officer before being handcuffed and taken into custody. According to reports, officers discovered Ginger had been involved in a fight with another customer who witnesses say pulled a pistol and told Ginger to stay away. That customer has a valid concealed carry license and was not charged.
