Quigley Wants Trump Tweets Preserved

(Washington, DC) — An Illinois Congressman is introducing a COVFEFE bill, aimed at preserving the President’s social media postings in history. Congressman Mike Quigley is proposing the Communications Over Various Feeds Electronically for Engagement Act, or, for short, COVFEFE, a tongue-in-cheek reference to a recent Presidential Twitter typo. The Democrat’s bill would extend the Presidential Records Act of 1978 to include social media as official communications. If passed, tweets would be protected as a part of the President’s records. The Democratic lawmaker calls Trump’s use of Twitter “unprecedented.” Quigley adds that — quote– “Tweets are powerful, and the President must be held accountable for every post.”
