(VANDALIA, IL) — A 56-year-old Vandalia man has been sentenced in Fayette County Court to 17 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on three counts of possession of child pornography. In March, a Fayette County jury had spent less than an hour to return a guilty verdict on all charges against William Frakes. Frakes was arrested in July 2016 and charged with two Class X felonies for possession of child pornography depicting a child under the age of 13 in a sadistic manner and Class 2 felony possession of child pornography of a child under the age of 13. On Friday Judge Don Sheafor sentenced Frakes to 7-years in prison on each Class X conviction and 3-years on the Class 2 conviction to all be served consecutively. He will have to serve at least 50 percent of the full-sentence and has been given credit for 300 days served in the Fayette County Jail.
