Kelsea Ballerini’s New Single is a Chameleon

Kelsea Ballerini’s brand new single is autobiographical in that it was written about a former love. She tells us since co-writing the song a couple of years ago, “Legends” has taken on new meaning.

“I wrote this song two years ago which is crazy, but I wrote it when I was going through a breakup, so that was the heart and the perspective that it came from, but as I lived with it it’s kind of just like changed meaning. It’s kind of chameleon song for me now because it’s still a story about heartbreak, but now I’m in a very different place in my life and I sing it as like a love song now cause it doesn’t necessarily have to be about like a love that ends. It’s just kind of looking back nostalgically on a love, and so now it’s kind of a love song for me. It’s also kind of a song about fans, too

“Legends” is the debut single from Kelsea’s upcoming sophomore album due out later this year. Kelsea spent her weekend in Nashville at CMA Fest where she performed and hosted various segments of the nightly concerts at Nissan Stadium along with Thomas Rhett. They are the official co-hosts of this year’s CMA Fest primetime ABCTV special, set to air in August.
