Dems Push Rauner On Climate Accord

(Chicago, IL) — The state’s top elected Democrats and members of the General Assembly are calling on Governor Bruce Rauner to go on record in favor of supporting the goals of the Paris climate accord, even though President Trump has decided the U.S. will withdraw. In a letter to Rauner, the statewide elected officials, along with the leaders of the Illinois House and Senate and more than two dozen lawmakers, urge Rauner to join the United States Climate Alliance. The effort is already backed by 12 governors, numerous mayors, and business and education leaders. There’s been no reaction from Rauner.
