(BENTON, IL) — Benton Police continue to investigate Sunday’s night bomb threat at Franklin Hospital.  The hospital received the first threat at 5:13 p.m. followed the second one just minutes later. Hospital patients and employees along with residents of Helia Healthcare nearby were evacuated. The Illinois Secretary of State Police bomb squad unit was called in to investigate and found nothing. The all clear was given around 9:30 and residents and patients were allowed to go back to both facilities. Illinois State Police and the FBI are working with Benton Police on this case. The FBI is involved to assess whether or not this threat was terror-related. Police don’t have much to work with at this time to solve the case, but they are working to find out who make the call and where it came from.
