Gas Prices Down For Summer Driving Season

(Chicago, IL) — Gasoline prices for that summer road trip in Illinois are as low as they’ve been at this time of the season for more than ten years. Triple A Chicago says the statewide price for a gallon of regular unleaded is two-dollars-40-cents, about 13-cents lower than a year ago, and the lowest since 2005. In the Chicago metro area, a gallon of regular is about two-52, down 15-cents from a year ago. In the city itself, the average is two-78, down six-cents.
