(BENTON, IL) — A bomb threat Sunday evening forced the evacuation of Franklin Hospital in Benton. According to officials, a bomb threat was called into the hospital around 5:15 p.m. Then moments later, a second bomb threat was reported at the hospital. A few patients and hospital employees were evacuated from the building. Helia Healthcare next door was also evacuated. Those living around the hospital area were not evacuated. The Illinois Secretary of State Bomb Squad was called in. Nothing was found and the scene was cleared a few hours later. Those affected by the incident were also allowed to return.
