(Mt. Vernon, IL) – University of Illinois Extension is collaborating with Pavey Chapel, USDA Rural Development, Crosswalk and the City of Mt Vernon to provide information on homeownership in Mt Vernon. The program called “Welcome Home” is scheduled for Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Pavey Chapel located at 1004 S. 10th Street in Mt Vernon.

There is no charge for the event. Michelle Laskowski will be presenting information about the USDA Rural Development loan programs. Nathan McKenna from the City of Mt Vernon will be discussing the City’s Mow-to-Own program including eligibility and cost. A representative from Crosswalk will be talking about the home improvement grants that are available for eligible residents of Mt Vernon that currently own a home.

Finally, Pam Schallhorn, Extension Educator will be holding a Q&A on tips on financing a home. There is no charge for the event. For more information, contact the Jefferson County Extension office at 618-242-0780.
