Galesburg Starts Replacing Lead Lines

(Galesburg, IL)  —  The first of about 400 homes in Galesburg are getting new water lines this week. The city is using nearly two million-dollars in state grant money to replace some of the old lead pipes that lead to a number of older homes. Galesburg is quick to say the pipes are on private property, they are not the city’s water lines. Galesburg Public Works Director Wayne Carl yesterday said the city will need more money to replace all of the lines in the city.
