Marchers Arrive In Springfield, Try To Disrupt Lawmakers

(Springfield, IL)  —  The first thing hundreds of marchers who want a state budget did when they arrived at the Illinois Capitol was to congratulate each other for the trip. The second thing was to try and disrupt the statehouse. Capitol police dragged some protestors away from the governor’s office and the front of both the House and Senate yesterday. The group is pushing lawmakers to come to terms on a state budget, though their specific demands are a bit vague.
