(ADDIEVILLE, IL) — An Okawville man is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Washington County.  Authorities report 21-year-old Justin Schwankhaus was traveling along Route 160, approximately 3 miles west of Addieville at 3:13 a.m. on Monday May 29th, when his vehicle left the north side of the road, striking a culvert and flipped 3 times.  He was pronounced deceased at the scene at 3:30 a.m. by the Washington County Coroner Mark Styninger. Schwankhaus was reportedly not wearing his seatbelt, which caused him to be ejected. He died from head and chest injuries, due to the blunt force trauma.  No autopsy is planned, but toxicology samples were obtained and are going to be submitted for testing.  This crash is being investigated by the Illinois State Police and the Washington County Coroner’s Office.  No other information has been released at this time.
