Clock Is Ticking On Illinois Budget

(Springfield, IL)  —  Illinois lawmakers are supposed to have a state budget by the end of the day tomorrow. But lawmakers say chances are they won’t. Both the Illinois House and Senate worked yesterday, but neither got any closer to a budget agreement with Governor Rauner. Democrats are considering a plan to raise five-and-a-half billion dollars in taxes, but the governor says he can’t accept that plan without property tax reforms.
