Annie Ruth Wilford was born in Coldwater, MS on April 12, 1945, the oldest child of Samuel and Eartha (Todd) Lesure. She is a 1963 Graduate of Mt. Vernon Township High School. Annie continued her education at St. Paul Tech with a specialty in nursing.  She lived and worked in the Minnesota area for over 30 years as a Nurse and Bus Monitor until she retired here in Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Wilford was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobbie Joe Wilkes; parents, Samuel and Eartha (Todd) Lesure; grandson, LeevellLesure-Thomas; and nephews, Mark and Demetrius Housely. Annie is survived by her husband, James Wilford; children, Angel Thomas, of Mt. Vernon, Monte Lesure, AntwoneRenfrow, Jaronda (Willie) Washington, of St. Paul, Minnesota and Bobbie Valdez Wilkes of Centralia, IL; sisters, Jessie Bee Huggins, Shirley (Tanya) Young of Youngstown, OH, Betty Mckinney of Indianapolis, IN, Bobbie Ruth (Rufas) Milsap and Melba Renee(Johnnie) McCaskill, Jenneal (Robert) Whiteside of Mt. Vernon; brother, Eugene(Renee) Todd; special sisters, Marie Clayton, and Nina Reed; special son, Oscar Brown of Mt. Vernon; special daughter,Sanetta Rudder of Centralia, IL; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  She was a member of Lively Stone Apostolic Church. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 12:00 P.M. at Lively Stone Apostolic Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Pastor Allen E. Rudd, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois.
