Chicago BOE Approves Borrowing $900 Billion

(Chicago, IL)  —  Chicago Public Schools is going to borrow another large chunk of money.  The city’s Board of Education authorized borrowing close to 900-million-dollars yesterday.  Almost 400-million-dollars will be used to keep city schools open the rest of the school year and to make a pension payment.  The rest of the funds will go toward the upcoming budget year.
