Tax Increases On Docket In Illinois Senate

(Springfield, IL)  —  Democrats in the Illinois Senate are ready to vote on five-billion-dollars in taxes.  Senate leaders yesterday unveiled a new state budget that’d spend five-billion more than the state brings in.  The tax increases include an income tax hike, an expansion of the state’s sale tax to new services, and a number of business taxes.  Republicans say they don’t think the budget plan will be balanced.
