(MT. VERNON, IL) — People in Mt. Vernon will likely see a lot of motorcycles driving through town today as bikers travel across the country to honor veterans. According to the Mount Vernon Police Department, bikers with “Run for the Wall” will travel through Mt. Vernon today. They’ll exit Interstate 57 at the Veterans Memorial Drive around 12:30 p.m. and travel north on Wells Bypass to Broadway and then east to 44th Street for fueling. They’ll then leave 44th Street around 1 p.m. and go east on Broadway to the airport. Run for the Wall honors all veterans. Participants travel across the country to visit the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C., raising awareness along the way.
