(WASHINGTON, D.C.) — U.S. Senator Dick Durbin is calling for help from the Department of Justice to combat gun violence in Chicago. The Illinois Democrat sent a letter yesterday to U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions, asking the DOJ to provide Chicago-area law enforcement with more resources proven to reduce gun crime. They include the operation of Strategic Decision Support Centers. The plea comes as the city heads into the summer months, when shootings typically increase.
