(SALEM, IL) — Two people were arrested over the weekend on drug and weapons charges after a Marion County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by a 24-year-old Centralia man who allegedly ran from the scene. Reports say Kyle Berry was pulled over in the Southern Gardens Shopping Center on Julia Drive and then ran from the scene to the nearby mobile home park where he was apprehended as he was attempting to enter one of the homes. He was arrested for allegedly resisting a peace officer, possession of a weapon by a felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and driving while license revoked. A loaded .25 caliber handgun was reportedly located in the vehicle. Berry’s passenger, 18-year-old Cheyenne Morris, of Iuka, was arrested for alleged possession of under 5-grams of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia after a glass pipe with meth residue was allegedly found in with some clothing in the vehicle.
