(MARION, IL) — A man was arrested Thursday morning on drug charges after the Marion Police Department’s Narcotics Unit, with help from the Herrin Police Department, carried out a search warrant at a home in the 400 block of South Liberty Street. After tactical entry was made by police to get inside the home, police began searching the home. They recovered and seized one half pound of cannabis, various packaging materials and weighing equipment, two firearms and some cash. Police found 29-year-old Andrae C. Jackson at the home. He was arrested and issued citations for possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver 30 to 500 grams and felon in possession of a weapon. Jackson was arrested and taken to the Williamson County Jail without incident, awaiting future court proceedings. Police say this was the second search warrant executed by the narcotics unit at Jackson’s home within the last six months.  Jackson was arrested for possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver 30 to 500 grams and felon in possession of ammunition after a search warrant was carried out on Dec. 8 of last year.
