(SALEM, IL) — A 36-year-old Centralia man is in the Marion County Jail after he allegedly ran from a traffic stop over the weekend and took police on a lengthy foot pursuit. Shaun Brown was reportedly a passenger in a vehicle stopped by Central City police Sunday at Green and Morrison. Brown reportedly jumped from the stopped vehicle and ran, with the Central City officer in pursuit. Two Centralia police officers responded to a request for assistance and one ultimately captured Brown on Eugene Drive. He was taken into custody for alleged failure to register as a sex offender and on an outstanding Clinton County warrant for failure to appear on a 2015 case where he was convicted of criminal sexual abuse.
