(BOYD, IL) — How the resident of a mobile home fire Saturday in Boyd ended up in the middle of a road a ¼ mile away was still unclear Monday. According to Jefferson Rural firefighters, they responded to a fire call around 6:30 Saturday morning on Piedmont Street next to the Boyd Christian Church. The woman’s identity has not been released. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment and may have suffered from smoke inhalation. A neighbor called in the fire, reporting flames were coming from the roof of the mobile home at that time. Firefighters had the blaze under control within 20 minutes of their arrival. But the home, owned by Tom Garrison, was a complete loss. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, along with the State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire.
