(BENTON, IL) — The Rend Lake Water Festival is underway in Benton with several events for you to enjoy. The Carnival by Brady’s Amusement is open from 6 to 10 p.m. now through Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m. It’s located on the northeast corner of the Benton Square. Organizers say the Taste of Rend Lake event has been postponed due to the weather forecast. It is being rescheduled for a date this fall. Other events include the Little Mister/Little Miss Rend Lake Water Festival Contest Saturday night at 7 at the Doug Collins and John Malkovich Event Center at Benton Grade School.  And the parade will be held Saturday morning at 10 along West Main, Benton Public Square to North Main to Joplin Street. The Family Fun Festival is also on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to dusk at the Old Logan School Lot located at Church and Jackson Street. Live music and entertainment will also take place there from noon to 9 p.m. There will also be live music and entertainment at Capitol Park each evening from 6 to 9 p.m. For more information about this year’s festival, go to bentonwestcitychamber.com.
