MARION COUNTY — A Sandoval man who fled from Salem Police after a traffic stop Friday night is now in the Marion County Jail on drug charges. 27-year-old Eric Thompson was sought after allegedly running from police after a traffic stop in the parking lot of the Salem Community Center. Salem Police along with a canine unit failed in their search for Thompson on Friday night. Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies received information Saturday that Thompson was at the Centralia home of 38-year-old Johnny Duncan. Police reports indicate that Duncan and others inside the home initially denied knowledge of Thompson’s whereabouts. After receiving additional intelligence, deputies returned and arrested Thompson, Duncan and 39-year-old Zachary Hiltibidal on an oustanding warrant. Thompson was wanted on a Marion County warrant for criminal damage to property as well as pending domestic aggravated battery charges in Wamac. Salem PD added additional charges of possession of a narcotic instrument, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstructing a peace officer. Police say a bag with a syringe and spoon with drug residue was allegedly found in the car. MCSO received additional information that drug activity allegedly took place inside Duncan’s home and obtained and executed a search warrant Saturday night along with Centralia Police. Those reports indicate that multiple packages of methamphetamine and heroin were discovered along with drug paraphernalia. 32-year-old Ashley Snell and 32-year-old Anthony Jones were also taken into custody. Snell was charged with possession of meth and heroin and Jones charged with possession of less than five grams of meth. Duncan had charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and heroin added to his charges of aiding a fugitive. All five had their first appearance in Marion County Court on Monday.
