Marla Beth Howard, 61, of Bonnie went to be with the Lord at 12:30 A.M. May 3, 2017 surrounded by her husband, daughters, family and friends.

Marla was born December 17, 1955 in Mt. Vernon to Durward & Mildred (Oathout)Book. She married Tommy Joe Howard June 5, 1993 in Bonnie.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 7th at Bonnie United Methodist Church with Rev. Merle Fullerton and Corey Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Saturday May 6th at Bonnie United Methodist Church and after 11:00 A.M. Sunday at the Church. For those who wish,Memorials may be made to the Bonnie United Methodist Church or to the Bonnie Baptist Church in Marla’s memory.

In addition to her Husband she is survived by two daughters, Jennifer (John) Eubanks and Jamie (Robby) Robinson of Waltonville. Granddaughter, Harlie (Bryce) Jones and grandsons Reed and Rustin Robinson all of Waltonville. Sister Carol (Tom) Rightnowar of Bonnie; Sisters-in-law, Shirley Roney of Mt. Vernon, Patty Hale of Bonnie, and Karen Griffith of Sesser; nieces Malori (Matt) Newbury of Sesser, KayCee Hale of Bonnie, and Dristi Lamichhane of Sesser; nephews, Greg (Stasey) Rightnowar and Tony (Michelle) Rightnowar all of Mt. Vernon, Scott (Cheryl) Roney of Scottsdale, AZ, Tony Hale of Bonnie, and Kyle Lamichhane of Sesser.

She was preceded in death by her Parents and her Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Warren G. and Zela Ruth Howard.

Marla was a Registered Nurse and was the long time administrator of Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor until failing health. Marla was a member of the Bonnie Baptist Church. She loved working with Children in Bible Schools for both the Baptist and Methodist Churches in Bonnie. Marla and her husband are true soulmates and best friends who love the Lord and telling others about Jesus. Marla loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and she was blessed with a wonderful family and many dear friends. She greatly enjoyed to travel, especially to the ocean. She also was a Chicago Cubs Fan and was thrilled with their recent World Serires win.

Her motto is “Live Rejoicing Everyday” and that is truly what she does.
