(SALEM, IL) — A 20-year-old Salem man has been sentenced in Marion County court to 3-years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a felony high-speed chase earlier this year. Justin Landreth pleaded guilty Tuesday to Class 4 felony aggravated fleeing police and to a petition to revoke probation stemming from a 2016 conviction for Class 2 felony possession of a stolen vehicle. Landreth was sentenced Tuesday to 3-years on each count to be served concurrently. He was recommended for impact incarceration and ordered to pay all fines and fees. He was last arrested in February after leading Marion County Sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase that reached speeds of 125 miles per hour. The pursuit began on U.S. Highway 51 near Red Stripe Road just south of Sandoval when instead of stopping for a traffic stop Landreth accelerated and raced through Sandoval while swerving on the roadway and passing other vehicles. His vehicle reportedly turned onto Britt Road and then onto Wisher Road in rural Patoka and became stuck after hitting a fence and railroad ties. Landreth then fled the scene on foot but was apprehended a short time later when a deputy found him walking along U.S. 51 near Patoka.
