Dem Candidates Hit School Funding

(Chicago, IL) — Potential Democratic challengers are taking Governor Rauner to task in stump speeches. In Bloomington this weekend, J.B. Pritzker called for increased funding for schools, saying the state has shirked its responsibility for too long. In LaSalle County, Chris Kennedy proposed ending the reliance on property taxes to fund elementary and high schools. He says outcomes for students would be better if funding came through the state.
