Summers Out Of Governor’s Race, Backs Pritzker

(Chicago, IL) — City Treasurer Kurt Summers is ending his exploratory effort on a run for governor and is backing billionaire J.B. Pritzker in the Democratic primary. Summers Wednesday said it was a difficult decision to drop out because of the support he’s gotten in the past several months. Appearing with Summers, Pritzker said he was “honored and humbled” by the endorsement. Candidate Chris Kennedy released a statement following Summers’ endorsement, saying his focus will be on earning the trust of voters, not winning political endorsements.
