Mt. Vernon City Council To Hold Special Meeting

(MT. VERNON, IL) —  The Mt. Vernon City Council will hold a special meeting this evening at 5 p.m. at the old Council Chambers at City Hall.  Items on the agenda include the adoption of an ordinance to approve the 2017-2018 budget, first reading of an ordinance authorizing the sale of municipal property located adjacent to South 42nd Street, a resolution approving a contract extension with Republic Services for trash service, and a resolution approving a contract with the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council concerning telecommunicators and LEADS coordinators.  The meeting will end with the Council going into executive session before adjourning.
