(BENTON, IL) — Three people were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop last Thursday morning in rural Benton. Franklin County Sheriff Don Jones says 26-year-old Victoria L. Barron of Bonnie was taken to a local hospital for treatment of what was believed to be a meth overdose. She will be charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver 15 to 100 grams, attempting to possess contraband within a penal institution and possession of a hypodermic syringe. Twenty-three-year-old Brandi R. Key of West Frankfort was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a hypodermic syringe. And 21-year-old Trenton A. Brannon of Logan was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a hypodermic syringe as well as a failure to appear warrant on misdemeanor charges. Jones says the investigation continues and more charges are possible.
