Obama To Make First Public Appearance In Chicago Since Leaving Office

(Chicago, IL)  —  Former President Barack Obama is in Chicago to make his first public appearance since leaving the White House in January.  Obama will be speaking today about civic engagement and community organizing with a group of young people at the University of Chicago.  The event takes place at 11 a.m. at the university’s Logan Center for the Arts.  Yesterday, Obama met privately with some at-risk young men at a South Side neighborhood center to discuss gang violence, jobs skills and employment.
