(CARLYLE, IL) — Attorneys in the sexual assault case against a 22-year-old New Baden man confirmed in Clinton County Court Thursday that they’re ready for trial. Michael Boothman is facing two Class 1 felonies, one for criminal sexual assault of a victim unable to give consent and criminal sexual assault by force. Trenton police arrested Boothman on the charges in January and transported him to the Clinton County Jail where he remains with bail set at $75,000. Both prosecution and defense in the case confirmed Thursday that the case is ready for a May 1st jury trial. A status hearing is scheduled for April 26.
