(MT. VERNON, IL) — The Mt. Vernon Township High School Board of Education selected Matthew Flanigan as their new president Thursday evening.  Flanigan ran unopposed for a two year unexpired term and was officially elected April 4th. He, along with three other new board members, Kathy Asbery, David Kassner, and Brittany Boldt were sworn in during the meeting. Flanigan was the sole nominee for president and was nominated by Asbery. The four members replace departing members Bill Beck, Ben Mitchell, Carl Miller, and Karen Goodwine. In other business, the Board re-established the start time of future meetings to 7 p.m. from the previous start time of 6 p.m.
