Larry Jules Pierce, Sr., 72, of Texico, passed away April 17, 2017, at White Oaks Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon. He was born June 26, 1944, in Alton, Illinois, the son of Kenneth Dewey and Vera Margaret (Ganieany) Pierce. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, and member of Operating Engineers Local 520. Mr. Pierce is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Vera Pierce;  children, Larry J. Pierce, Jr. and wife Angie of Athens, Alabama, Lana J. Draper and husband Robert of Mt. Vernon, and Kevin J. Pierce of Addiville;  four grandchildren, Brittany Huge and husband Ian of Richview, Candace Mcghee and husband Brendan of Mt. Vernon, Melissa Smith and husband Sebastian of Bluford, and Landan Pierce of Addiville;  nine great-grandchildren, Levi, Allie, Ethan, Bella, Sage, Kellan, Lyla, Stella and Rylen;  one sister, Gloria Dudek and husband Ron;  and three nephews, Steve, Scott and wife Martha, and Tim Dudek. He was preceded in death by one son, Keith Pierce. Funeral services for Mr. Pierce will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Osborn Funeral Home, with Harry Thomason officiating.  Burial will follow at Wells Chapel Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the funeral home.  Memorial gifts may be made to the American Diabetes Association, and will be accepted at the service, or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.
