(SALEM, IL) — Bail has been set at $40,000 for a 19-year-old Centralia man arrested Monday for alleged theft and weapons charges. Marion County Sheriff’s deputies allegedly found Trevon McClain sitting in the driver’s seat of a car parked in a driveway on Bonanza Drive early Monday morning. The county K-9 Unit was called to the scene and reportedly alerted on the car. A subsequent search of the vehicle reportedly revealed a loaded handgun under the driver’s seat. The handgun was one of three reported stolen from a Centralia home a few weeks ago. McClain had reportedly visited the home around the time the weapons are believed to have been taken. McClain was taken to the Marion County Jail and was charged in court with Class 2 felony possession of a stolen firearm.
