(MT. VERNON, IL) — Mt. Vernon City Council is scheduled to meet this evening at 7 p.m. Among items on the agenda, the Council will hear bid results for doors for City hall and for the Northbrook Drive storm sewer improvement project. The City Manager will request permission to seek bids for electrical, HVAC, and plumbing improvements to City Hall, permission to seek bids for the Armory project, and make a request to waive bidding requirements for signage at the new industrial park.  The City Attorney will give second readings of an ordinance annexing real estate to the city and an ordinance concerning manufactured homes, an ordinance approving a conditional use for a crematory in relation to a funeral home operation at 601 South 42nd Street, and a resolution approving naming of the new industrial park. Finally, the Mayor will submit for appointment of Ariel Kabat and the reappointment of Larry Sidewell and Sarah Sledge to the Mt. Vernon Tourism Board, the reappointment of Mary Ellen Bechtel and Chris Deichman to the 911 Board, and the reappointment of Gary Chesney to the Airport Authority Commission. The meeting will be held at the Rolland W. Lewis Community Building.
