(CENTRALIA, IL) — A large brawl Saturday night at a Centralia bar resulted in one person being arrested and another being hospitalized. According to Centralia police, they called for assistance from Central City, Wamac, Marion and Clinton county sheriff’s departments, as well as Illinois State Police and Salem police to help disburse a group of between 15 and 20 people fighting at Arizona Joe’s on South Hickory Street. Centralia police responded around 11:40 p.m. Saturday to a report of a fight at the bar. They arrested 30-year-old Marvailes Emory, of St. Louis for alleged resisting and obstructing arrest. He was taken to the Centralia Police Department where he posted $150 bond and was released. One person was taken from the scene by ambulance to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia for an alleged leg injury. The melee resulted in the Emergency Room at the hospital and the lobby of the police department being placed on lockdown as a precaution when people from the bar started arriving at both locations. Police cleared both the bar and the parking lot of Arizona Joes approximately an hour after receiving the call.
