(DUQUOIN, IL) — The Du Quoin City Council Monday night took no action after discussing how the city would fine those having small amounts of marijuana. Work is currently wrapping up some ordinances on this issue that would make possessing pot, up to 10 grams, a civil violation and fines could range anywhere from $200 to $750 if you are found to possess drug paraphernalia. The council is expected to talk about this issue at some point in the future with a possible vote. Gov. Bruce Rauner signed a bill last July decriminalizing the possession of up to 10 grams of marijuana.
