Aldermen Question Chicago’s Aviation Department Over United Incident

(Chicago, IL)  —  Chicago aldermen are questioning whether city aviation police officers had the authority to remove a doctor from a United flight at O’Hare.  During a City Council hearing yesterday, Alderman Ed Burke proclaimed that Chicago employees shouldn’t be doing the dirty work for the airline.  O’Hare security chief Jeff Redding said officers only need to board a plane if there is an imminent threat but didn’t say if Sunday’s incident fit that category.
