(MT. VERNON, IL) — Technology contractor Advanced Systems Group are among many contractors involved with the construction of Mt. Vernon Township High School who have yet to be paid in full. However, the dollar amount is significantly higher for ASG than it is for others. MVTHS has withheld $410,000 from the contractor. ASG is the supplier for all the technology systems on campus after they were awarded the bid in 2015 not to exceed $3.07 million. As with many of the expenditures, the end cost of the technology and installation left MVTHS with a bill between $4.3 and $4.4 million. Quality Network Solutions has agreed to perform a free third-party audit of all services and equipment that ASG installed on campus to ensure the firm has met the requirements of its contract. The school board has expressed concerns with the ongoing technology issues at the school with the equipment that was installed by ASG in past meetings. The QNS audit offer is part of an existing technology services contract with the school, with QNS employee Terry Knowles being a member of the Mt. Vernon Township High School Board of Education.
