(CENTRALIA, IL) — An Illinois State Police roadside safety check Friday night in Centralia resulted in two arrests on meth charges. A 22-year-old Sandoval man was arrested after electronic scales with residue that tested positive for methamphetamine were reportedly found in his vehicle. Andrew Conrad was taken to the Marion County Jail for alleged unlawful possession of less than 5-grams of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. The safety check was conducted on Route 161 and North Hickory Street and also resulted in the arrest of 54-year-old Michael Lawson, of Centralia, on an outstanding Marion County warrant for failure to appear on a felony meth possession case. Lawson was released from the Marion County Jail after posting $2,500 cash bond.
